Type scales are one of those things that are deeply embedded in the web ecosystem yet go unmentioned because they're concealed beneath a framework or locked behind a text-xl class token. It's almost disturbing the extent to which we rely on these hidden morsels of knowledge hidden many layers deep within our npm imports.

If there's one thing you can't avoid is taxes, but in the UK it is quite opaque what you're paying as the process is automatic. I built this to make it clearer what was going on in my finances & put it up as other may find it useful as well.

It's hard to keep track of money, Excel may exist but I'm way too cheap to buy the Microsoft Office suite of products. If I wasn't a programmer, this would have put an end to my accounting ambitions. Fortunately I am blessed, this tool is how I keep track of how my savings & investments will grow over time.


Compounding Interest

During design it's quite key to align your line heights to your base grid size (smallest unit used in your design, used for regular alignment) but classically the line heights are defined as a multiplier of the font size. This is just a simple calculator that lets me work out exactly what the multiplier should be when working with awkward units e.g 29.2px;
